Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf founder Imran Khan has urged party leaders and workers to observe ‘Black Day’ on February 8, the day marking the first year since the 2024 general elections, as hold protests throughout the country.
In a meeting with his lawyers and party leaders on the sidelines of the hearing of the headquarters attack case, the PTI founder ordered the party’s national and provincial assembly members to organize protests on February 8, sources said. .
The PTI founder also prohibited the party leadership from making statements against Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman, saying that the JUI-F chief and the PTI had views similar issues on the issues of Afghanistan and terrorism in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP).
Imran also ordered PTI leaders to trust all opposition leaders including Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and Miftah Ismael. He expressed his displeasure towards KP Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur and party Information Secretary Sheikh Waqas Akram.
Sources quoted Imran as saying, “Shiekh Waqas is the party’s information secretary, not Gandapur.” He also asked the party leaders to convey his message to Gandapur to “get out of Dera Ismael Khan”.
