Imran chooses Achakzai as Na opposition leader, Swati for the role of the Senate


The founder of Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaf (PTI), Imran Khan, has nominated the head of the Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami (PKMAP) Mahmood Khan Achakzai party as opposition leader in the National Assembly and Senator Azam Swati has been on Wednesday as the leader of the opposition in the Senate of the Senate of the Senate, the Senate of the Senate of the Senate, Salman Akram on Wednesday.

The decision was made following the notification of the Electoral Commission of Pakistan (ECP) that disqualifies Omar Ayub as the leader of the opposition of Na and Shibli Faraz as leader of the Senate opposition after his conviction in the cases of May 9. In addition to Ayub and Faraz, the ECP also disqualified dozens of PTI MNA and MPA after their conviction in the riot cases of May 9.

Speaking with the media outside the Supreme Court, Raja said that the founder of PTI has sought a list of five names for the opposition leader position in the Punjab assembly in an attempt to choose the most appropriate candidate.

It is pertinent to mention that Ayub and Faraz had transferred to the Superior Court of Peshawar (PHC) after their disqualification of the ECP. In response to its supplications, the PHC maintained the appointments of opposition leaders in the National Assembly and the Senate and requested response from the ECP.
