The founder and former Prime Minister of Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaf (PTI), Imran Khan, has written a long letter of 349 pages to the President of the Supreme Court Yahya Aphridi and Judge Aminuddin, addressing issues related to human rights violations , electoral fraud and arrests of PTI workers.

Khan declared that between November 24 and 27 last year, a large number of PTI workers were arrested. He also claimed that the hospital records were sealed and then altered to manipulate facts.

In his letter, Khan criticized the Judiciary for not providing justice despite the repeated requests against electoral fraud and the continuous violations of human rights in the last 18 months. He said that PTI workers were subjected to forced disappearances, extrajudicial injuries and murders.

“The current government entered power through electoral fraud and historical rigging,” he wrote. “This unconstitutional regime has inflicted a severe oppression of PTI, demolishing our offices and subjecting our leaders to brutal torture.”

Khan also approached his controversial arrest on May 9, 2023, stating that he was illegally arrested from the facilities of the Superior Court of Islamabad. He accused the authorities deliberately transmitting arrest on television and social networks to cause public outrage.

“When I approached the Superior Court of Islamabad to seek relief against the repression of the State, I was attacked. The Supreme Court later declared that the entire illegal operation, ”Khan wrote.

In addition, he claimed that peaceful protests against their arrest were kidnapped by infiltrates that encouraged violence to discredit PTI’s demonstrations.

Meanwhile, in response to the offer of negotiations of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, the leader of PTI, Shibli Faraz, has rejected the suggestion of forming a camera committee, stating that it is not an effective approach.

Faraz criticized the position of the prime minister, saying that the real problem lies in the government’s attitude towards other political parties. “The proposal for a Chamber Committee is not a viable solution. If the government took the conversations seriously, a committee would have already formed,” he said.

The senator reiterated PTI’s demand for a judicial commission, emphasizing that such an agency would inspire public trust. “We are asking for a judicial commission because people have confidence in it. The suggestion of the Chamber Committee is not appropriate,” he added.

He clarified that PTI’s call for negotiations aimed at relieving the ongoing political instability in the country. “We agreed to speak to help solve the political crisis and stabilize the country,” he said.
