Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa’s main minister Ali Amin Gandapur said Wednesday that Pakistan’s founder Tehreek-E-Insaf (PTI), Imran Khan, agreed to participate in the political dialogue, said Express News.

“Those who turn this into an ego issue are damaging Pakistan. We must overcome personal interests and think about national interest,” Gandapur said while talking to journalists in Peshawar. “Imran Khan has agreed to negotiations and has clearly said that he is ready to talk about Pakistan’s improvement,” he added.

The CM also approached the ongoing legal efforts for the launch of Khan. “The requests are underway for the release of Imran Khan,” he said, adding: “As executive director of a province, I have a court order that allows me to know it weekly. These meetings are crucial for consultation, especially with the provincial budget that is approaching.”

Emphasizing the importance of Khan’s contribution in the provincial government, Gandapur said: “Imran Khan is the head of the party that governs the province. His vision must be reflected in our policies. If I do not allow me to meet him, how can I implement that vision?”

He also criticized current federal leadership, blaming him for the instability of the country. “Pakistan is going through a phase of serious instability, and the root cause is with those currently in power,” he said.

The negotiations between the Government and the opposition began in December 2024, with the aim of finding a mutually acceptable solution to the political and economic crises of the country, and to solve long -standing contentious problems. However, the process hit a problem after only three rounds of conversations.

During the third round, PTI presented a letter of demands, qualifying the proposals a “prerequisite for broader negotiations” in other matters. Seven days later, Khan abruptly ended the dialogue, stating that the Government had not met the party’s claim to form a judicial commission within a week.

A day after Khan’s announcement, PTI leader BarrĂster Gohar, slightly contradicted the statement, suggesting that the conversations had been waiting.

Subsequently, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif invited PTI to resume dialogue through a parliamentary committee. However, the founder of PTI Invancing decreased, finally dissolved the party negotiation committee and ordered its members to serve as a coordination committee responsible for building a large opposition alliance.
