The Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) said on Tuesday that former prime minister and PTI founder Imran Khan has shown significant improvement in his vision after his second dose of anti-VEGF intravitreal injection.
“The results are encouraging. His vision has improved markedly and he is at a substantially good level at this stage,” reads a statement issued by PIMS.
He added that the examination of the PTI founder was held today at Adiala Jail, in which the following medical professionals participated: Dr Nadeem Qureshi, Head of Vitreoretinal Department, Al-Shifa Trust Eye Hospital, Rawalpindi, and Prof. Dr Arif Khan, Head of Ophthalmology Department, PIMS, Islamabad.
The statement further said that the medical board conducted comprehensive tests, including visual acuity checks, fundoscopy, slit lamp examinations and optical coherence tomography on both of Imran’s eyes.
“The board also provided recommendations for further care, advising Imran to continue with the previously planned treatment regimen,” he said.
