Islamabad:
The imprisonment of Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaf (PTI) and former Prime Minister Imran Khan once again expressed his willingness to hold direct conversations with the powerful interested parties of the country on Thursday, saying that he was ready to “give and take” only in the interest of Pakistan.
In statements to the party leaders in the Adiala prison in Rawalpindi, the founder of PTI, while emphasizing that he was not looking for personal relief, said the doors for dialogue with the establishment were open, saying that he was ready to speak at any time for the good of the country and the national unity.
The Senator of PTI Ali Zafar, after meeting with Khan in jail, told the media that the former prime minister had made it clear that any agreement would be for the country, not for personal benefit. “There is nothing personal,” Zafo said before quoting Khan saying: “If I wanted concessions for me, I would have asked for a long time and it would not have spent 600 days in jail.”
To a question about the recent comments of Khan’s sister, Aleema Khan, Zafar said Khan clarified that any notion of a donation and taking approach would be strictly for Pakistan’s benefit. “I am not asking for any relief in my cases,” Zafar attributed to Khan, adding “I just want justice, and I want my cases to be heard without delay.”
As reported, Aleem recently requested direct conversations with the “invisible forces” to ensure his brother’s release through a possible agreement to “give and take.”
In statements to the media in Islamabad, she said that the judges who handled Khan’s cases were under pressure, noting that Khan cases enter the list of causes, but then they are not occupied.
Khan, who was expelled from office through a vote without confidence in 2022, has been in jail since August 2023. He faces a variety of positions, including corruption and incorrect violence, which his party maintains that they are politically motivated.
To another question, Zafar said that Khan also confirmed that he had already announced a protest campaign against the PML-N rider coalition and that the party would present its strategy in the next few days.
Zafar said that Khan has instructed the leadership of the party to prepare for movement, warning that he would no longer remain patient if no one goes out. “No one will be allowed to play from both sides of the fence,” he said.
Khan’s renewed reach has arrived at a time when his party has not been able to obtain any relief for him since he was arrested and sent after bars in August 2023. His party says that imprisonment aims to leave him aside from the national political landscape.
However, Khan’s continuous imprisonment has not only remained a meeting point for PTI leaders and supporters, but has become a central problem in the continuous confrontation of the party with the establishment.
The crack between PTI and the powerful interested parties was evident last Friday, since Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa’s prime minister, Ali Amin Gandapur, had omitted a formal dinner organized by the newly chosen chosen field marshal Syed also, also the head of the army staff.
As surprisingly, PTI’s leaders were not invited to dinner to celebrate success in Operation Bunyanum Mésoos. On May 10, 2025, Pakistan had launched a reprisal response to the unpaved Indian aggression, including missile strikes in the Pakistani air bases and civil areas.
