Islamabad: as well as the hopes of a new round of dialogue between the Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaf (PTI) and the federal government seemed to be gaining impulse, according to the reports, with the stimulus of the key rooms: the founder of PTI, Imran Khan, has once again opted for the mass mobilization by the negotiations.
According to well -located sources, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s prime minister Ali Amen Gandapur had recently told Khan the leaders of his party who had received a positive signal from the “correct rooms” to initiate conversations with the federal government.
These signs were interpreted as an indirect wink of the establishment, which has distanced itself from the direct political commitment to PTI in recent months.
However, when the message was transmitted to the chief of PTI imprisoned, according to reports, he rejected the offer and instructed his party leadership to prepare for street agitation.
Party experts claim that Khan is still convinced that public pressure remains the most effective tool to force a political advance.
This marks the second important breakdown of a possible dialogue initiative in recent months. In November last year, another attempt collapsed when PTI’s leadership, supposedly under the influence of former first lady Bushra Bibi, decided to push her rally beyond Sangjani to D-Chowk in Islamabad.
The measure admit sources, alienated the potential mediators and tightened the position on the other side at a time when it was reported that it was open to conversations.
Interestingly, this time, the lawyer Gohar had transmitted Khan’s approval in principle to positively respond to an offer of public dialogue made by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on the floor of the National Assembly. The offer was produced following the rare sample of PTI unity with the government and the armed forces during the recent border tensions with India.
However, within a week, Khan reversed his position at a later meeting with the main leaders of the party, citing a “misunderstanding” and reiterating that negotiations would not be carried out unless they were directly with the establishment.
The familiar sources with internal deliberations said that CM Gandapur informed PTI leadership that there was a clear indication of the influential power runners to advance with the conversations at the government level.
Leaders aligned with Gandapur believed that any understanding with the government would carry the implicit support of the establishment and could open doors for legal relief for Khan, as well as broader political normalization.
However, with the establishment that firmly refuses to participate directly, attention has now resorted to a delegation of Pakistani doctors based in the United States that currently visit Pakistan. It is a speculation that the informal efforts of Back -Channel could be channeled through this group to help break the dead point.
Despite repeated reimbursements, there is still cautious optimism within some PTI circles that dialogue remains the only viable path forward. But with Khan once again betting on the power of the street for the negotiation, the point of death seems far from ending.
It is believed that the movement to boost or prefer agitation and shock on negotiations would certainly cost the PTI to the opportunity to solve things before adverse decisions are announced in the cases of May 9 or the second reference of Toshakhana.
The mass mobilization to ensure Khan’s release is apparently impossible, he said a source, adding that the adversary legal battle is not over and takes a long time.
