Rawalpindi:
Taking note of the accusations exchanged among its confidants, PTI’s chief pattern, Imran Khan, has restricted his sister Aleem Khan and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Prime Minister Ali Amin Gandapur to issue public statements against the other, and has summoned the latter for a meeting on Thursday (today).
This was declared by the Senator of PTI Ali Zafar, who spoke with the media outside the Adiala prison after the audience of the Toshakhana II case. He clarified that Imran had not said anything about the elimination of Gandapur of the Prime Minister.
The controversy began on Tuesday when Aleem said that Gandapur had told Imran that he was trying to kidnap PTI with the help of an intelligence agency. The comments occurred one day after the KP prime minister met with the founder of the party in prison and left without heading to the press.
Aleem, who also met his brother on Tuesday, said that Imran had told him that Gandapur had filed a complaint against her, claiming that he was “in contact with an intelligence agency and wanted to become the president of the party.”
In a night video message, Gandapur acknowledged that he had transmitted to the founder of the party his concerns about alleged attempts to create divisions within the party. He admitted that there were internal divisions, accusing Imran’s sister of working with certain Vloggers to encourage workers against him and discredit senior leadership.
KP’s prime minister added that he told Imran that this factionalism was attending personal interests and damaging the campaign for the liberation of the founder of PTI. Gandapur also claimed that Aleema, with the support of powerful rooms, was trying to divide the party. He pointed out that while his son was released in a matter of days, dozens of PTI workers, including Imran himself, had been languishing in jail for months.
He also said that Hafeezullah Niazi, a relative of Imran Khan, headed a campaign to raise Aleema Khan as president of PTI.
Speaking to journalists on Wednesday, Zafar said that the founder of PTI had ordered Gandapur to meet him in jail on Thursday. “Imran Khan has also appointed four new coordinators today,” he added.
Citing the founder of PTI, Zafar said that if Imran continues in lone confinement, the four coordinators would administer their legal affairs, and added that the new team would now end the calendar of meetings with him.
According to Zafar, Imran expressed his regret for the public dispute between Gandapur and Aleema, emphasizing that leaders should not issue grievances in public, since it only benefits political opponents.
