Rawalpindi:
The founder of Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaf (PTI), Imran Khan, has promised not to bow before any pressure, saying that any perception of his surrender is a “wrong concept.”
Talking to the media outside the Adial prison after a judicial hearing in the case of Toshakhana-II on Wednesday, the sister of the founder of PTI, Aleema Khan, transmitted her message. She cited Imran saying: “Those who think I will break them are delusional. I will not accept slavery, no matter what does me.”
Imran has asked the entire nation to take to the streets on September 27, urging a generalized participation in what said it will be a decisive moment in Pakistan’s political resistance, he added.
Aleem also said, Imran is still challenging, and critic with the current political order and quoted the founder of PTI saying that he tried to crush PTI by bringing the 26th constitutional amendment to control the judiciary, cushion the media and strangle democracy.
According to her, Imran also warned that Pakistan has seen a drastic drop in foreign investment, and her debt has almost doubled. Imran believes that the country is directed by a dangerous path similar to Bangladesh, Sri Lanka or Nepal, he added.
Aleem said that Imran has instructed PTI’s leadership to play the role of a true opposition, warning them of political irrelevance. “If you do not act now, you will be digging your own political tombs,” said the founder of PTI.
No to video link tests
Touching the video link procedures in the case of attack of the General Headquarters (GHQ), Aleema said: “The Punjab government and the Department of Origin want to isolate Imran Khan forcing a video link test. We completely reject it.”
She argued that Imran had rejected such arrangements even after surviving an attempt to murder. “He insisted on being physically present in the Court. Now that he is in jail, they want to isolate it more under the pretext of a video link.”
The isolation, he said, avoids legal consultation and disconnects it from the family. “The goal is to silence it,” he added, warning that after Toshakhana’s trial, Imran and his wife Bushra Bibi can be subjected to prolonged solitary confinement.
Aleem urged the legal community to join against amendment 26, saying: “Imran Khan can be the focus today, but tomorrow could be any other person who faces these antidemocratic tools.”
He also talked about a recent incident in which two women allegedly threw eggs outside the court. She said that both women were arrested by PTI workers and delivered to the police, but then released “under orders from above.”
The founder of PTI has been ordered to appear through a video link from the Adial prison for the next hearing, since the Anti -Terrorist Court (ATC) postponed the GHQ attack case until October 1. The development occurred after the Punjab government formally withdrew its notification for holding a trial in the prison in the case.
Chaired by ATC Amjad Ali Shah judge, the court issued a summons for three witnesses to appear at the next hearing and instructed that Challan copies are distributed in another 11 cases of May 9 on the same day.
Another ATC has framed charges against 11 people arrested in the case of protest of November 26. ATC Tahir Abbas Supra judge held the hearing, during which the defendant declared himself innocent. The court postponed the procedures until September 24.
In the same case, PTI leaders remain on interim bail until November 13. The Police have presented the Challan of the arrested of 195 workers nominated in the case of the Secretariat Police Station, while 184 absent have already been declared criminals proclaimed by the Court.
