Islamabad:
The Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaf (PTI) has unanimously decided that the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa mines and mineral bill will only be approved after an exhaustive consultation and with the formal approval and confidence of its founding president, Imran Khan.
The decision was taken at the meeting of the political committee of the party held to discuss the bill of mines and minerals presented at the Provincial Assembly.
During the meeting, CM KP Ali Amin Gandapur gave a complete and detailed informative session on all the key aspects of the bill.
PTI’s central information secretary, Sheikh Waqas Akram, in a statement, said the political committee reviewed all the dimensions of the bill and unanimously agreed that the bill did not contain any clause that transferred provincial autonomy, the rights or mineral resources to the Federation, SIFC or any other federal institution.
He said that during the meeting, it was agreed that the positive suggestions of all interested parties would be welcome and consult with other parliamentary parts would continue to develop a wide range consensus before the final approval of the bill.
The PTI leader said that the bill has already been presented at the KP Assembly and that it was under discussion. However, it would only be approved by the Assembly after obtaining the formal approval of Imran Khan and completely align it with its agenda, manifesto, narrative and public aspirations.
Waqas made it clear that there has been no hurry in the approval of this bill, nor will there be any in the future.
Meanwhile, he revealed that Imran strictly prohibited the people who met him to discuss the details of the meeting or instructions with the media.
He said that according to Imran Khan’s instructions, those who met with him must present written details of his instructions to the Central Secretary’s information, since only the information of the central secretary was authorized to issue these instructions and written statements.
Waqas declared that any declaration of other sources would not be considered official or credible from now on.
In addition, he affirmed that the founder of PTI strictly refrained from the party officials to make statements with each other. He said that the offenders would face display causes, and those who occupy party positions would be stripped of their responsibilities.
Waqas said that the president of PTI, the lawyer Gohar Ali Khan, has been informed about the authority and powers of the Chief Organizer of Punjab, and added that a six -member advisory committee would be formed under the chief organizer.
Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa’s mines and mineral bill, 2025, has caused a storm of criticism, with the sister of PTI’s founder, Imran Khan, Alema Khan, asking to put the proposed legislation on hold.
The criticism, which came mainly from the leaders of the PTI and the activists of the social networks, was so hard that Prime Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur had to submit a statement on Tuesday night, dismissing “erroneous rumors and concepts” with respect to the proposed amendments.
The bill, which was presented at the Provincial Assembly on April 4, was destroyed by ruling and opposition legislators.
