Imran’s party requires that the end of political repression

Islamabad:

The PTI filed five demands from the government on Thursday, asking for a transparent legal process, the liberation of political prisoners, the freedom of the media, the immediate and fair immediate elections, and the end of what it called “fascism” by abandoning politically motivated cases.

In statements to the media outside the Superior Court of Islamabad, the leader of PTI, Babar Awan, emphasized that the ongoing cases against leaders and party workers must be subjected to odd judgments.

He warned the government to “open the eyes” and put an end to what he described as “fascist practices.” Reiterating the PTI position, he said that selective justice undermines democracy and that true justice must be rapid, transparent and equitable.

“The selected courts are being used for selected cases. This is not justice,” he said, adding that the delay in verdicts erodes the very principle of timely justice.

Awan demanded independent judgments for political cases, liberation of all political prisoners, the freedom of the media, immediate and fair immediate elections and the end of the “fascist tendencies.”

“Seventy -five to eighty percent of the nation is with Imran Khan. The government must wake up and put an end to its fascist tendencies,” he said, he added that the cases of Town Model I and II remained in prolonged delays.

Speaking on the occasion, the opposition leader in the National Assembly, Omar Ayub, accused the PML-N of endangering national sovereignty and poor management of national security and economic problems. He said that every time the Sharif family comes to power, the integrity of the country is threatened.
