Rawalpindi/Islamabad:
The former prime minister’s sister, Imran Khan, Aleema Khan, has firmly condemned the abuse of a journalist by the alleged PTI workers, but has also accused that “people are sent” in the journalism outfit to discredit it.
Speaking with the media outside the Adiala prison in Rawalpindi after a meeting with Imran, who is imprisoned in the center of the prison, Aleema said Tuesday that certain elements were causing and intentionally increasing the situation.
“When someone is intentionally sent, that is not journalism,” he added, “it became the purpose of inciting people.”
On Monday, a journalist was assaulted out of Adiala’s prison after asked Aleema Khan about her alleged properties in the United States.
Later, the Police registered a case against Aleema, the legislator of PTI, Tanveer Aslam, the focal person of Bushra Bibi, Naeem Panjutha, and 40 workers not identified for their alleged participation.
Aleem Khan defended his commercial interests against accusations, challenging critics to provide evidence. “It is the work of a journalist; if they have evidence, they should present it,” he said, “I am saying that my property is of my legitimate and legally won money.”
Speaking with reference to the launch of an egg during his media talk in Adiala prison, he dismissed the accusations that the incident was organized. “If they threw an egg by my own orders, why did the police take those two women to protect them?” She asked.
