- The consolidated Purple color ssd refrigerated by liquid in GTC 2025
- The design took me into account of its limited editing ssd ssd for #122day
- The Soldigm D7-PS1010 E1.S for AI servers will be launched at the end of 2025
For the revelation of its SSD 122.88TB D5-P5336 at #122day (January 22), Soldigm created a personalized Lego version of limited edition of its high capacity impulse for journalists and clients.
This promotional product, scheduled to also coincide with the International Lego Day on January 28, feels as an appropriate prelude to what the company showed in GTC 2025.
Although there was nothing toy on the compact shelf of SSDS NVME refrigerated by NVME fluid on display, it had the same visual touch, with a purple funky scheme and a 9.5 mm shape factor.
Eliminate air cooling completely
The demonstration presented the Soldigm D7-PS1010 E1.s mounted in a dense mini shelf configuration. Although the SSDs were refrigerated by liquids, it was not done in the traditional sense.
There is no fluid that flows through the units themselves. Instead, they trust cold plates mounted on server that make contact with both sides of the SSD housing.
Servethehome He explains: “Instead of bringing the liquid to the SSD, and having to deal with quick disconnections and potentially lose one or two drops of fluid with each change, the server has cold plates. Then, the SSDs are inserted into these cold ones that then cover a face of the SSD box, keeping it fresh.”
Not related, but very relevant, is the fact that NVIDIA showed NVL576 racks based in Kyber in GTC.
It is expected to be launched in the second half of 2027, these could attract 600kw, and Nvidia hinted that future shelves may require megawatts of full power.
In that type of environment, each component, including storage, will need to throw heat efficiently, something that the solidigm solution achieves without the need for fans.
In addition to completely eliminating air cooling, it will reduce HVAC’s costs and support ESDS-Swappable.
The fun purple housing and small -scale rack configuration certainly made the screen stand out between more conventional server demonstrations in the event, but this is not a consumption product.
Soldigm designed the D7-PS1010, with the entry of NVIDIA, specifically for business and AI work loads, and plans to offer it in two versions: a 9.5 mm model with liquid cooling support and a 15 mm version for air refrigerated systems.
The launch is aimed at the second half of 2025.
