The United States Senate has never been closer to approving an important cryptographic legislation, since it reflects the draft stable regulation law, but some Democrats insist that the final debate must address the accused conflicts of President Donald Trump.

Part of that debate will be an impulse of a prominent faction of the Democrats, including senators Elizabeth Warren and Chris Murphy, to amend the legislation to directly prohibit the president already other senior government officials (including the members of Congress) to participate in Stablecoin businesses, a restriction of which Trump would already go to the Afroul of his family.
“The elected officials have the responsibility of serving the American people, not to align in their own pockets,” said a group of seven Democrats that also includes the minority leader Chuck Schumer in a statement on Friday, the day after Trump welcomed more than 200 of the main investors in his own memory for a private dinner. “To take energetic measures against the flagrant corruption of the president and his family, our amendment prohibits the president, the vice president and the senior government officials from benefiting directly or indirectly from a Stablecoin company while they are in office.”

Other Democrats who chose at the beginning of last week to advance with the bill have argued that the United States Constitution already makes illegal that the president accepts something of value of foreign interests, as they claim that Trump is doing with his family business of cryptocurrency. Those senators, including Kirsten Gillibrand in New York, have said that there is no need to repeat it in the Stablecoin bill. But Murphy responded at a press conference on Thursday that pursuing legal violations under that constitutional provision is much more difficult than simply making a new law that leads to explicit consequences.
Senator Bill Hagerty, Tennessee’s Republican who supported the National Innovation Law for National Innovation for the United States (Genius), said in a Friday interview about Fox Business that he is “optimistic as we adopt this legislation, and I am delighted that we have strengthened strong and bipartisan support here, that we are moving forward in the right direction.” The bill cleared a so -called clotura vote on Monday that required 60 votes, with supporters totaling 66, including more than a dozen Democrats.
The vote to advance the bill meant that a definite period of debate on the floor would begin before another obstacle of sewage and obtain its final vote on approval, which would happen with a simple majority. At that time, the Chamber can adopt the work of the Senate or approve something similar that can be entangled with the Genius law in a negotiation of commitment that would lead to even more votes.
Murphy said Thursday that the Stablecoin debate will continue until next week. In response to a Coendesk question, he said that some Democrats who approved the vote of the previous sewage could not do it again if the current Stablecoin debate does not enter the Trump theme.
Many of the Democrats who have been protesting the Trump memecure dinner are looking to direct the debate about the stablcoin towards the possible conflicts of government officials. Murphy said Trump is directing “the most corrupt White in the history of the country.”
“The fact that corruption develops in the public where everyone can see does not mean that it is not a rampant and rapaz corruption,” he said.
But Trump’s son, Eric, appeared in consensus 2025 in Toronto earlier this month, arguing that cryptographic commercial issues are not offering access to the presidency.
“I started world freedom long before I was chosen,” said Eric Trump. “We were in the cryptographic world long before I was chosen, and one has absolutely nothing with the other.”
And Bo Hines, a White House advisor for digital assets, said in the same consensus event that “the president of the United States cannot be purchased.”
