QUETA:
Prime Minister Mian Shehbaz Sharif has expanded the laptop distribution quota for students enrolled in public sector universities across Balochistan, increasing it from 14% to 18%.
This decision was taken on the recommendation of Balochistan Governor Jafar Khan Mandokhail. Additionally, students in the province have been granted 3,000 internships, a notable step towards improving education and promoting employment opportunities.
The announcement was made by Rana Mashhood, Adviser to the Prime Minister on Youth Affairs, during the 20th convocation of Balochistan University of Information Technology, Engineering and Management Sciences (BUITEMS).
The convocation, held on Thursday, was chaired by Governor Jafar Khan Mandokhail, who also serves as the chancellor of the university. The ceremony recognized the achievements of 700 graduating students.
On the occasion, Governor Mandokhail praised the Prime Minister and his advisor for their proactive measures.
“These initiatives reflect a strong commitment to the educational upliftment of the youth of Balochistan. Increasing the quota of laptops and offering internships are practical steps to bridge the gap between urban and rural educational opportunities.”
