Islamabad:
Federal Information Minister Attaullah Tarar has condemned attacks on the high commission of Pakistan in London by individuals “backed by the Indian State and agencies.”
The high Pakistani commission in London was destroyed after protests for hundreds of Indian protesters outside the building. The incident caused property damage, with broken window panels and saffron paint thrown on the outside of the building and its plate.
Two individuals were arrested later for alleged participation in violence. Pakistani supporters also organized a counterprotest in response
After the attacks, the security around the high commission increased while an investigation was underway to identify those responsible for vandalism, Pakistan state television reported.
Referring to these attacks, as well as the transnational murder of Sijs leaders in countries such as Canada and the United States, Tara, while addressing foreign media on Sunday, attacks were evidence of the extremist ideology of India and hostile actions.
The minister highlighted Pakistan’s position as a first -line state in the war against terror, stating: “Pakistan is a victim of terrorism, since no other state has established 90,000 lives in the war against terror.”
He said that the armed forces of Pakistan, the agencies of application of the law and civilians made great sacrifices for national and global peace, noting that the economy has suffered losses in the “hundreds of billions of dollars” due to terrorism.
“We are the wall between terrorists and the world, and Pakistan needs to be strengthened and supported by his war against terrorism,” he said.
“We will continue to protect our citizens and citizens of the world, and promote global peace by counteracting these terrorists who are trying to impose their own ideology in certain areas spilling blood of civilians and personnel from the armed forces,” he said.
