The Director General Interservices of Public Relations (ISPR), the general, Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, has reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to peace, saying that the country is not inclined to violence and responded to Indian military actions with responsibility and restriction.
The recent climbing began after India made air attacks in Punjab and Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) from May 6 to 7, which killed more than 30 civilians. In response, Pakistan knocked down five Indian combat planes and intercepted multiple drones.
The subsequent Indian strikes on the Pakistani military objectives on May 9 led Islamabad to launch the “Bunyan Marsoos Operation”, aimed at Indian military facilities while avoiding civil infrastructure.
In an interview with RT Arabic, Lieutenant General Chaudhry said that “Pakistan is not a violent nation,” and added that the country’s main priority remains peace.

The DG ISPR revealed that the high fire was requested by an Indian defense official and facilitated through US mediation. He praised the diplomatic efforts of Pakistan during the confrontation, calling them mature and effective.
He also criticized India for rejecting Pakistan’s call for a neutral investigation into Pahalgam’s attack in Iiojk, for which New Delhi blamed Islamabad without presenting evidence. “India rejected a logical and impartial investigation and, on the other hand, resorted to missile attacks against civil objectives,” he said.
The ISPR chief also accused India of sponsoring terrorism in Pakistan, particularly through groups operating in Baluchistan.
He reiterated that the armed forces of Pakistan are still committed to protecting the sovereignty of the country and will act decisively against any aggression.
