The general director of Public Relations between Services (DG ISPR), General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, has confirmed that the Indian forces carried out air attacks in three locations within Pakistan, pointing to the Ahmed East East area of Bahawalpur, Kotli and Muzaffrabad.
According to security sources, the strike resulted in the martyrdom of an innocent child, while a woman and man suffered serious injuries. In response, Pakistani forces have initiated a retaliation action, while Pakistani airspace has also been closed.
“Some time ago, India cowardly enemy launched air attacks in the Subhanullah Mosque in the Ahmed East East area of Bahwalpur, Kotli and Muzaffrabad in three places in the air,” Chaudhry said during a night press session.
He added that the Pakistan Air Force had scrambled the planes in response to the attack. “All our Air Force aircraft are in the air. This cowardly and shameful attack was carried out from India’s airspace. They were never allowed to come and end up in Pakistan’s space.”
When issuing a severe warning, the military spokesman declared: “Let me say it unequivocally: Pakistan will respond to this at a time and place of his own choice. This atrocious provocation will not remain unanswered.”
When asked about possible casualties and infrastructure damage, DG Chaudhry said the evaluation efforts were ongoing and promised to share more details once confirmed.
Local sources also declared that there was a complete blackout in Muzaffarabad after the explosions, which generated concerns about the scope of the damage and the ongoing security situation.
In the light of recent developments, Defense Minister Khawaja Asif had issued a marked warning, stating that a clash with India is now “inevitable” and could happen “at any time.” His comments come in the midst of the growing fears of direct military confrontation between the two neighbors with nuclear weapons.
The incident follows weeks of augmented tensions after a deadly attack in Jammu and Kashmir of illegal occupation (Iiojk), which New Delhi has blamed Pakistan, an accusation that Islamabad denies.
No official statement has been published regarding victims or infrastructure damage. The authorities have urged citizens to keep calm and expect verified information.
