INDO IN MEDIUM FLOOD IN CHASHMA

The Provincial Disaster Authority (PDMA) of PUNJAB has issued an average flood alert for the Indo River in Chashma and Kalabagh, warning that a significant increase in water levels could lead to floods in the surrounding areas.

According to a PDMA spokesman, the water discharge in Chashma has reached 378,000 Cusecs, while in Kalabagh, there are 413,000 Cusecs. The increase in water flow has led the authorities to issue alerts to the relevant districts and departments.

The general director of PDMA, Irfan Kathia, has directed the commissioners and the commissioners attached to Sargodha and Dera Ghazi Khan divisions to remain on the maximum alert. Alerts have also been issued to the attachments of Mianwali, Bhakkar, Layyah, Kot Addu, Dera Ghazi Khan, Muzafargarh and Rajanpur.

The PDMA has instructed the civil defense, the 1122 rescue and all the relevant institutions to complete the precautionary precautionary measures. In addition, alerts have been sent to the departments of the local government, agriculture, irrigation, health, forests, livestock and transport.

“All necessary preparations must be completed according to the directives of Punjab Prime Minister,” Kathia said. He also ordered that emergency control rooms remain attended and totally operational, and that rescue disaster response equipment 1122 are placed on maximum alert.

“Fuel stocks, including gasoline and diesel for rescue operations, must be available in adequate quantities,” Kathia added, emphasizing the importance of uninterrupted emergency response capacity.
