Indy 500 is based on more than 7 million viewers, says Fox Sports

More than 7 million viewers tuned to see Alex Palou win the first 500 Indianapolis of his career during the weekend, Fox Sports announced on Monday.

The race obtained 7.05 million viewers, said Fox Sports, citing Nielsen Fast National Ratings. The company added that it had 8.4 million viewers at its peak between 4 pm et and 4:15 pm et.

Palou passed Marcus Ericsson with 14 laps to go in the race and held him and the rest of the pack at bay to win the race. It was the fifth victory of the 2025 season for Palou and the first time a Spaniard won the Indy 500.
