Internet responds to the Sher de Toimoor Danish

Karachi:

(Spoiler alert!)

The Internet is having another country day with a Danish drama of Taimoor. No, it’s not him by handling a woman as he did in Mann Mast Malang But it is his representation of mental illness in the last episode of Ster That led things to a completely new level.

Let’s see: Fajar was supposed to marry Sher’s younger brother. She rescued. Drama occurred. Sher was shot, or his aunt did. And now? Sher is in a full -fledged mental health crisis and has been admitted to a psychiatric hospital.

The episode last night presented such an involuntarily hilarious scene that he kidnapped Tiktok and caused a thousand memes. In this clip now viral, Sher feels collapsed on the floor of his room, surrounded by a scribble wall. Among the chaotic scribbles are phrases like “Shut up, I’m sad”, “Motip” and strangely, “Corona Virus” written in Urdu.

For reasons that are better to the imagination of the production team, the Psych Ward room is also decorated with brain diagrams framed of the photographic style of file, presumably to remind each patient who are really crazy. Very subtle, very sensitive, very … not how psychiatric care works.

Perhaps the strangest and most disturbing aspect of this whole arch is that Sher Zaman is chained to his hospital bed as if he were a high -risk prisoner instead of a patient in professional care. It is a discordant image, one that evokes more a drama of the prison than a medical center.

Social networks react

A Tiktok user commented: “I like a small child in my room after being shouted by my parents.” Relatable!

Another user said: “How do I feel trying to explain something logical to my co -workers desi.” We have all been there!

“Coronavirus literally said.” We really wonder why?

“Shut up, I’m sad ‘😭 I’m going to use this everywhere now.” We too!

While memes are undoubtedly hilarious and virality is a free promotion, this scene raises an important question: when will our dramas begin to treat mental health with the nuances it deserves? Is this our understanding of treatment?

The regression of something in layers such as the main abdul Qadir Hoon, a well thought out and executed drama that explored mental health and personal growth for Sher’s wall is disappointing.

It is time for large production houses, veteran writers and star actors to collaborate to represent mental health with dignity.
