- Intuit introduces five new AI agents to help SMBs grow
- ‘Everyday’ tasks are holding back many, report finds
- New tools should help unlock SME productivity
Intuit has announced a series of new AI tools and services for small businesses looking to take their next big step forward.
The accounting software giant has revealed five new AI agents on its Intuit platform, which it says will be able to transform the way SMEs work and operate, giving them the opportunity to thrive and grow.
Available now as an all-in-one platform, agents will cover everything from accounting to leads, financial summaries and project management, automating time-consuming tasks and increasing productivity and collaboration across the board.
AI to the rescue
“This is very much the beginning, not the end: allowing trusted experts like accountants and bookkeepers to come together in one place to help small and medium-sized businesses manage and grow their businesses and ultimately solve more of the critical jobs they need to do to run their business, all in one place,” said Ciaran Quilty, senior vice president of international at Intuit at a launch event attended by TechRadar Pro.
The launch comes after Intuit revealed new research that found many SMBs say they are being held back by fragmented systems or siled services, leading to significant operational inefficiencies.
Surveying 3,600 SME leaders in the UK, Australia and Canada, the study found that these businesses could see up to 58% more revenue growth by closing what it calls the “growth gap” in unrealized potential, equivalent to at least £121,272 in annual revenue for the smallest businesses and up to £416,000 for medium-sized businesses.
Daily operations are causing much of these inefficiencies: the study found that almost 40% of UK leaders are almost always involved in daily operations, and only 5% said they felt confident delegating important decisions, and bosses also lost almost a full working day each week switching between seven and nine digital systems to keep their business running.
The company believes AI can help unlock this business potential, with 80% of SMB leaders saying AI can help them delegate more effectively while maintaining control, and 40% saying they already save 5-8 hours per week through automation.
“While companies are missing out on growth opportunities, the extent to which AI is used makes a clear difference,” Quilty added.
“Ambition is abundant, but the path to execution remains clogged by everyday complexity. The challenge is not the ambition itself, but the systems needed to turn it into progress. When routine work is automated, time and visibility return, giving leaders the insights they need and the confidence to act with conviction.”
