- The image in iOS 26 shows what a real -time translation looks like
- Will require a device compatible with Apple intelligence
- It could be just iPhone 17, and possibly 16 pro/max
The last beta developer of iOS 26 has apparently revealed an important update not announced for AirPods 4 and Airpods Pro 2: Real World, real -time translation.
As reported 9th5mac, iOS 26 Developer Beta 6 contains a new system asset that shows both airpods stems that are pressed simultaneously. The image seems to refer to the application translates and shows several words in several languages, including Hello, Danke, Obrigado, Bonjour, Olá and Bye.
Danke, Apple
Apple announced the live translation last month on WWDC, but not to chat in the real world: Apple focused on facetime and phone calls, as well as messages. But Bloomberg leaked at the beginning of this year the live and face -to -face translation, so Bloomberg, so we knew he was in process. We just didn’t know when it would come.
We do not know much about this new feature, including the requirements of the device: AirPods and Airpods Pro do not have the power to execute the translation in real time natively, so that will be handled by your phone, iPad or Mac.
Nor do we know what languages will be compatible when the function is launched, although clearly the filtering active shows some of them (Portuguese, French, German and ER, English).
It seems likely that the function initially admits a fairly small selection of languages and requires an iPhone, iPad or Mac recent: the live translation for telephone calls and facetime already announced is available for English (United Kingdom and the US. UU.), French, German, Portuguese and Brazilian Spanish and requires a device compatible with Apple Apple intelligence.
It is possible that, as Apple with Apple Intelligence last year, the new feature can be exclusive to the iPhone 17 and the pro models last year.
