- iOS 26 will unlock additional load speeds on iPhone 16 models
- 25W will be possible using third -party loaders
- We should see the final version of the software in September.
Since iOS 26 was announced in June, it has gone through several beta test cycles before its complete launch expected next month, and now we know that it will bring an additional bonus to existing iPhone 16 phones: a faster wireless load.
As seen by Macrumors, iOS 26 unlocks the complete capacities of the Qi2 wireless load standard on the iPhone 16, which means wireless load speeds of up to 25 W in third -party QI loaders. Previously, the limit was 15W.
To obtain the best loading speeds, you need several different elements to align: telephone hardware, load standard and software support. The QI2 standard was created on the phones of the iPhone 16 when they were released last September, and then were updated to admit 25W in July.
At this time, that 25W update has not been unlocked in the 16 iPhone series: it can only obtain a 25W wireless load from the official Apple Magsafe chargers. When iOS 26 unfolds in its entirety, that will change.
Wireless increases everywhere
Thanks to improved load capabilities, you can obtain an iPhone 16 or iPhone 16 Pro to 50% battery from scratch in just 30 minutes, according to Apple’s own figures for its Magsafe product range.
Belkin has moved quickly and is launching three new loaders to take advantage of the incoming update. It is not something that Apple has referred specifically yet, although that can change when the Beta iOS 26 period ends.
This is also a confirmation that iPhone 17 phones will admit the last Qi2.2 standard, with a wireless load of up to 25 W, as expected widely, although as the support of third -party loaders obtains an increase of up to 25 W, we could see that Magsafe’s capabilities reach up to 50W, according to a leak.
It is almost certain that Apple will present the iPhone 17 series at some point in September, and the indications are that something could happen around September 9. As always, we will bring all the news and ads as they happen.
