- Ipvanish has just added your safe browser to your Macos and Windows VPN desktop applications
- Secure Browser is a completely -based solution, which allows you to visit potentially insecure websites without risk
- Unlike antivirus programs, the safe browser never lets threats reach your computer first, protecting it from malware and tracker
Ipvanish has just increased the safety offer of your desktop applications by integrating your safe browser tool directly into your Windows and Macos VPN.
The Secure Ipvanish browser allows you to navigate the web remotely, completely in the cloud. It protects it from malware, tracker and several exploits, since what you are seeing is essentially a completely disinfected version of the site. None of the potentially bad things comes to your computer.
The last update has made the safe browser much easier to use for a broader range of users, something that could help Ipvanish compete against the best VPN services.
How does Ipvanish Secure Browser?
Originally launched at the end of 2024, the Secure Ipvanish browser was previously an independent feature. You can access it through a web application or an extension of the browser, using your choice browser.
Now, you no longer need to remember the website address to start the Secure browser, since it is integrated into the VPN IPvanish customer through the VPN Windows and Mac applications.
The Secure Ipvanish browser is run completely in the cloud using the isolation of the remote browser (RBI). This means that each website that visits is remotely, not on your device.
When using the browser, an interactive visual flow of the website is presented. This disinfected current protects it from possible threats, including malicious code or trackers, since none of them are really loaded on your computer.
Nothing is stored locally; They do not stay cookies, history or cache once you have finished navigating. More importantly, each session is disposable and sand, with zero persistent data or digital footprints. Ipvanish also promises to get rid of all navigation data at the time it leaves the application.
This last relay highlights the commitment of Ziff Davies, the IPvanish parent company, to make a versatile cybersecurity solution instead of only a virtual private network client (VPN).
“Secure Browser is a central part of IPvanish continuous plans and is a key part of our movement to be a VPN supplier to a complete security suite,” said IPvanish commercial director, Subbu Sthanu.
In that end, earlier this year, it was confirmed that IPvanish’s malware protection was the best in the market. The company also recently launched a set of free security tools, including a tool that hides its IP and scan the dark website for filtered emails.
How to use the Secure ipvanish browser
Ipvanish made available the safe browser as part of its advanced plan. Users in that plan get up to 30 hours of safe navigation per month. You will see a session timer at the corner so you can watch how much navigation time you have left for the month.
It can be subscribed to the advanced plan from the equivalent of $ 3.29 per month, and includes the IPvanish VPN, the protection of threats, the safe browser and the backup of the cloud.
Once it is in the advanced plan, launching the safe browser is easy. Simply start the IPvanish desktop application and run it from there. The browser works very similar to any other, so you can write addresses of the website to start a safe and disposable navigation session.
