ISLAMABAD:

Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal on Tuesday highlighted the need to reinvent democracy in line with the technological, informational and demographic revolutions shaping the 21st century.

The minister expressed his views during his speech at the seminar “Shaping social democracy since 1925” in the federal capital.

The event was held on the occasion of the centenary celebrations of Friedrich Ebert Stiftung (FES) and 35 years of its association with Pakistan.

Iqbal proposed launching an “ideas laboratory” to study the current crisis of democracy and adapt its model to the realities of the digital age.
