Iranian Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni, has expressed pain and condolences for the loss of lives due to torrent rains and floods in Pakistan, particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Gilgit Baltistan (GB).
Momeni held a telephone conversation with Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, and transmitted his sincere sympathy to the families of those who lost their lives. He offered cooperation and assistance for people affected by Pakistan’s floods to his Pakistani counterpart, Naqvi.

“It is deeply sad to witness the devastation caused by floods in Pakistan,” he added. “Hundreds of people have been separated from their loved ones.”
The Iranian minister said his country is shoulder shoulder with the people of Pakistan. Naqvi thanked his Iranian counterpart.
“Climate change is becoming an omen of devastating destruction in Pakistan,” Naqvi added. “For the first time in history, Pakistan is going through such a dangerous climatic situation.”

KP has been affected by sudden floods and heavy rains, leaving more than 400 dead, 190 injured and more than 1,600 damaged houses, with Buner informing the highest deaths. Many areas have faced mass destruction and remain unattainable, leaving innumerable displaced.
