The robust market of smartphones is evolving, with many brands that now integrate large batteries and even portable projectors on their devices.
The Chinese brand 8849 is known for such devices, since it has previously launched models as the 8499 Tank 2 Pro and Tank 3 Pro.
The company has now announced the 8849 Tank 4, a commercial smartphone that has a DLP projector of 100 lumens 720p. It supports a laser-assisted automatic approach up to 4 meters, micro-laser range, night vision chamber and a RGB camp light.
Projector phones are carving a niche
Tank 8849 4 has a 6.78 -inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 1200 x 2650 and an 120Hz update rate. Metering 174.3 x 85.4 x 23.9 mm and with a weight of 538 g, it is just a little smaller than the best resistant tablets in the market.
This phone works with a mediatek dimensity 7300 chip, matched with 12 GB or 16 GB of RAM and 256 GB or 512 GB of internal storage, expandable through the TF card.
It houses an 11,600 mAh battery, which is approximately half of the capacity of Tank 3 Pro, but is still great for daily use. The device is also compatible with the rapid load of 66 W by cable. Although it lacks wireless load, it compensates with a 25W reverse load through its C 2.0 type port.
For photography, the phone is equipped with a triple rear camera configuration, which includes a 50MP Sony sensor, a 64MP omnivision night vision camera with infrared filling lights and an 8MP 3x zoom lens.
Like other resistant smartphones, this device admits the resistance of water and dust IP68. The connectivity includes Wi-Fi 6, double SIM support and compatibility with 5G NR GSM networks, which offers download speeds up to 2.34 Gbps.
Samsung once ventured into the projector’s phone category with the Beam Galaxy launched more than a decade ago. However, the company finally left space due to high costs and limited adoption at that time.
However, with new offers such as 8849 Tank 4, as well as similar products such as Oukitel WP100 Titan and Doogee V Max Play, projecting phones may be ready to return.
