Sir Ringo Starr’s son Zak Starkey was definitely nervous before playing The Cavern.
Although he had only visited his father’s hometown once and had never decided to enter the famous music venue where the legendary rock band started, which also included Sir Paul McCartney and the late John Lennon and George Harrison.
However, after Happy Mondays’ Shaun Ryder and Bez and former Oasis bassist Andy Bell completed the group, Mantra of The Cosmos played two shows there in one day, calling it a “surreal” experience.
Before the performances, the former Oasis drummer approached famous guitarist Noel Gallagher for reassurance.
“It was very surreal. I was fucking with it, properly until I got there and it was amazing. The music is like sacred music, right?” Zak. he told the Liverpool Echo, speaking about his experience while making the show.
Revealing the conversation he had with Noel, Zak mentioned: “I used to shit my pants. I was sitting in my room and I texted Noel telling him I was screwing him. He said, ‘Go down and go, what are you talking about?'”
Mantra Of The Cosmos have only played a few shows, including their debut at Glastonbury in 2023.
