ISHAQ to give rejects the Indian accusations in Call with the Russian FM Lavrov

The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ishaq Dar, rejected what he described as the “unfounded accusations and inflammatory rhetoric” of India against Pakistan, during a phone call with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, on Sunday.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, GIV also condemned the unilateral decision of India to suspend the Indo Water Treaty (IWT), qualifying it as a breach of the international obligations of New Delhi.

The Foreign Minister informed Lavrov about the regional situation evolving after the greatest tensions between Islamabad and Nueva Delhi. He reiterated that, although Pakistan is still committed to regional peace, “he will sign its sovereignty and national interests firmly.”

Giving Pakistan’s call renewed for “an international, transparent and independent investigation” in the recent Pahalgam incident, rejecting any attempt to link Pakistan with the matter without evidence.

In response, Russian Foreign Minister, Lavrov, expressed concern about the situation and underlined the need for diplomacy. “Both parties must exercise restriction and avoid climbing,” he said, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The two leaders also reviewed the state of Pakistan-Russia relations and reaffirmed their commitment to strengthen cooperation in commerce, energy and defense.
