The Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) has officially announced new times for educational institutions in Islamabad during the Sacred Month of Ramadan 2025.
The revised times will be implemented from Ramadan’s first, and schools return to their usual schedule once the month ends.
According to the newly announced calendar, double -change schools will operate from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm from Monday to Thursday, and Friday classes extend until 12:00 pm
The night shift schools are scheduled to function from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm
On the other hand, the Central Committee Ruet-E-Hilal will meet today in Peshawar (Friday) for the sighting of the Ramadan moon. However, the Department of Meteorology of Pakistan (PMD) has said that there are little chances of observing the Ramadan moon on Friday due to cloudy climate.
The Central Committee Ruet-E-Hilal will meet in Peshawar at 6:30 pm on February 28 to determine the beginning of the Holy Month. The president of the Committee, Maulana Abdul Khabeer Azad, will preside over the meeting after the ASR prayer.
According to the Ministry of Religious Affairs, the Zonal Committees throughout the country will also meet separately to evaluate the moon sighting reports. The religious scholars of several schools of thought will participate in the central session.
The MET office has predicted partially cloudy conditions in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, including Peshawar, during the next 24 hours. “Due to the cloudy climate, the possibility of observing the Ramadan moon is low,” said the department.
