Beijing:
The Minister of Planning, Ahsan IQBAL, met with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of China, Sun Weidong, on Saturday to discuss the second phase of the Chinese-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), according to an official statement.
Both officials reaffirmed their commitment to strengthen bilateral ties, with a particular approach to industrial development and company cooperation to company under phase II of CPEC. Iqbal transmitted the goodwill message of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to Beijing and praised China’s support during recent regional tensions.

“The people of Pakistan are proud of the eternal friendship with the leadership and the people of China,” he said, and pointed out that China’s development model serves as an inspiration for Pakistan’s movement towards an export -oriented economy oriented.
He stressed that the Uraan of Pakistan initiative, built around a five -way framework, is fully aligned with the objectives of Phase II of CPEC to ensure economic, social and institutional stability through people -centered reforms.
Iqbal emphasized that developing an expert and educated workforce and the B2B collaboration of deepening will be key pillars of the next phase CPEC. Weidong reiterated China’s strong commitment to expand cooperation in multiple sectors and praised Iqbal’s leadership role by converting CPEC of a plan into a billionaire reality.
