HBO Harry Potter The television program will reach the small screen in 2027, with the filming officially from this week. We have already had a first Harry -shaped look by Dominic McLaughlin, and now a second character has followed his example. Nick Frost Hagrid has already made waves on the Internet, but there is something important to take into account.
Of course, we all love the original cast in the Harry PotteR films, including Maggie Smith (McGonagall), Alan Rickman (Snape), Michael Gambon (Dumbledore) and Hagrid Robbie Coltrane original. However, the fact is that in two years we will have a new harvest of famous faces in these same roles, such as Paapa Essiedu (Snape), John Lithgow (Dumbledore), Nick Frost (Hagrid) and Janet McTeer (McGonagall).
Obviously, the HBO Max version can never replace who came before, and it is not necessary to say that the new television program will probably feel completely different. While these are only assumptions at this stage, the first look at Nick Frost Hagrid could certainly blur the line between the two in the worst way.
Is Hagrid on the HBO Harry Potter television show, like the original version of the film?
Obviously, the fact that McLaughlin Harry looks so similar to a young Daniel Radcliffe has dropped incredibly well (even with me), but the similarities in the past and the present of Hagrid are a bit more disturbing. Let’s be realistic: we are seeing an airbrush version of the original in this new click. Of course, this could be hypocritical, but there is an extra context with Nick Frost’s hagrid.
In an interview with Collider, Frost previously confirmed that “never” would try to be a version of the representation of Coltrane. “You choose because you are going to bring something to that. While I am really aware of what remained before me in terms of Robbie [Coltrane]The incredible performance, I will never try to be Robbie. I will try to do something, not ‘different’, I think you have to be respectful of the subject, but within that, there is room for Minutia, “he said.
With this in mind, did you not expect Hagrid’s physical appearance to be so similar? Character descriptions are expected to be reproduced according to the book rules, but that does not mean that the television program has to copy exactly what we saw in the movie. The castings of Arabella Stanton (Hermione) and Paap Harry Potter and the cursed boy.
There is no doubt that I am running before being able to walk with my evaluation here, but I think that physical similarity is an obstacle instead of a help. Hagrid is possibly the most beloved adult character in the group, so we will have the highest expectations for him. Paste an identical wig and a mass beard on him, and Frost is instantly lost in the shadow of Coltrane. Clearly, the differences in Hagrid will appear in their personality, but is it a sufficient difference? Is there enough reason to restart? Harry Potter at all?
“I always read Hagrid, since he is like a lovely, lost, violent and funny child.
