Islamabad:
The Islamic State Group has demanded an explosion of bombs aimed at the police in southwest Pakistan who martyred three police officers and wounded more than a dozen.
A bomb planted on a motorcycle parked on Tuesday went to a bus that had 40 police officers in Mastung, Baluchistan, where security forces have been fighting violence for decades.
In a statement on Tuesday night, the regional branch of the group, the Islamic State Khorasan (IS-K), which often carries out attacks against security forces in Pakistan and Afghanistan, said that their “soldiers” attacked the police.
Pakistan has witnessed a strong increase in violence in their regions that border Afghanistan since the Taliban returned to power in Kabul in 2021.
Baluchistan’s prime minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti, strongly condemned the bombing and expressed a deep pain for the loss of precious lives.
