- It has been confirmed that Intel Macs will not be compatible with macos 27
- Anyway, only four MAC models with Intel CPU are compatible with Tahoe macOS, but that will be the final update for those machines
- These devices will at least receive security updates for another three years.
If you have a Mac with an Intel CPU, we now know that Macos Tahoe 26 is the end of the line for your device (assuming that you admit macos 26 first, and you can verify it here).
Techradar can confirm that information was provided on Intel’s compatibility in the WWDC Platforms State of the Union Keynote, and Macos Tahoe will be the latest version of Apple’s desktop operating system to admit any MAC with an Intel processor.
Another way to put this is that when Macos 27 arrives next year, you will only admit Macs with Apple chips inside.
However, although Intel Macs that can execute Tahoe 26 will be stuck with that operating system, these machines will continue to obtain security updates for another three years.
ANALYSIS: That ran around the door
I had an idea that this could come, but I was not completely convinced that Apple would really advance and do this, or perhaps more specifically, excludes MacBooks as recently as 2020 with Tahoe Macos 26. He feels that this hardware is being pushed out of the exit door a little hurriedly.
In fact, only a small number of Mac with Intel CPU is good to go with Macos Tahoe: The MacBook Pro of 16 inches of 2019, MacBook Pro 13-Pulgated 2020, but only the high-end model with four ports (not the laptop of entry level with two ports), together with the 2019 Mac Pro Pro and the 27-inch IMAC of 2020.
These Macs can be good for now, but they will not get macos 27, which will probably be announced and launched next year, although at least they have a three -year guarantee of security updates in the future, to protect them against the vulnerabilities that appear in the operating system that could be exploited.

Therefore, these devices will be covered for updates until the end of 2029 (assuming that the three years begin from the launch of Macos 27), which is nine or 10 years of updates in total. And to be fair, it is in line with the coverage that Microsoft has provided with Window 10, which has had a decade of support (which ends in October, of course).
Of course, that was not only security updates, but also new features, although the additions made to Windows 10 have been few and distant in recent times, but they have still continued.
However, Microsoft faces its own controversy with the Windows 11 updates, and the most pronounced hardware requirements faced by Windows 10 users.
