- The folding iPhone is apparently another step closer
- Apple may be about to choose a visualization provider
- Previously, Apple had struggled to find a satisfactory screen
Apple has not officially said that there is a folding iPhone along the way, but the amount of leaks we have found on such a device makes it very likely to be in development, and there is another rumor to inform today.
The well -known Tipster Yeux1122 (through Macrumors) says that Apple is now close to deciding on a manufacturing partner to produce folding screens for the folding iPhone. That is based on information from sources in Apple’s supply chain.
There is not much more information here, but there is a suggestion that some parts suppliers are now approaching the standard required by Apple in terms of the folding screen and the mechanisms that support it.
Previously, we have heard that the folding iPhone project was about to be canceled, because Apple could not get a flexion screen with which I was happy. It seems that those obstacles can now have been overcome.
Previous rumors
There have been many previous rumors around a folding iPhone. In November, we obtained news that the device had overcome the conceptual stage and was actively working as a physical product that would send consumers.
More recently, we have heard that the folding iPhone would have a main screen of 7.6-7.9 inches and a 5.3-5.5 inches cover. The same source predicted a launch window at some point in 2026 for this long -awaited smartphone.
Other predictions suggested that 2025 could be the year of Apple’s folding phone, but as we are now in February, that seems less likely. It remains to be seen exactly what folding style we will obtain, in the style of book or flip style.
Although Apple has not yet launched a folding iPhone, the folding market has seen many new and high -end devices appear in the last 12 months, including the Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 and the Samsung Galaxyy Z Flip 6.
