Money without object
We love to give practical purchase advice on the latest devices here in Techradar. But sometimes what we love even further It is enjoying the luxury and avant -garde technology of the planet more scandalously high -end, avant -garde. That is what we bring in these columns without money objects: you can read the entire series here.
The best stereo speakers sound fantastic but often subsequent in the visual department; I know it would be difficult to choose my speakers of an alignment shelf, and I am a musician who works. Therefore, it is always a joy to see speakers that look as good as they are destined to sound, as the new Stratton Acoustics Element 6 and Element 8 speakers here.
These are not budget purchases, with price labels of £ 15,000 / $ 20,000 (approximately AU $ 31,385) for element 6, £ 20,000 / $ 25,000 (approximately $ 41,850) for element 8 and £ 3,500 / $ 5,000 (approximately AU $ 7,323) for stands. But alone look them. If I had the richness to buy them for my mansion, I would do it absolutely. If I had a mansion.
Stratton Acoustics Element 6 and Element 8: Not just a eye party
The star here, apart from those enclosures, is the Soft Dome Tweeter of 29 mm wave guide and Stratton wave guide. That is combined with an average/low controller of six inches in element 6 and an eight -inch unit in element 8, which makes element 6 more suitable for smaller spaces or close field listening positions.
The enclosures have double -resistance port vents to reduce the unwanted resonance of the low reflex port, and are made with polymer matrices reinforced with acrylic silica, again with resonance reduction powers claimed, and aerospace degree aluminum failures.
According to Stratton, the combination of enclosures and deflectors “ensures a clean and transparent sound with a lasting and luxurious finish that will last decades.”
As for the stands, they are also machined with precision of the aerospace aluminum. And Stratton is making great claims for its design: “Its sculptural shape reflects the jewelry details of the front and rear of the speakers, with a perfect finish that plays with light and reflection with a striking effect, raising the entire system to the level of modern art.”
Stratton says that these speakers “offer a visually dazzling presence, premium materials, leading electroacoustic design in class and engineering, offering a luxurious experience for both the eyes and the ears.” I am sure they do, although unfortunately I think it will be a lot, a long time before I can pay a couple.
The new element 6 and element 8 of Stratton Acoustics are available now.
