- Base Season 3 makes an important change in great revelation with respect to the mule
- Two of its cast members have discussed why it is such a shocking moment.
- One of the Apple TV+ program stars says it will cause a great debate among fans
Base Star Lou Llobell has revealed that he had no idea of the reinvention of the program of great revelation on the mule.
Before Base Episode 10 of season 3 made its debut on Apple TV+ today (September 12), I sat with Llobell to discuss the last final of the series, titled ‘The Darkness’, including that greatly surprising moment on the main villain of this season.
Complete spoilers continue immediately for the end of season 3 and the series of ‘Foundation’ books by Isaac Asimov. Return if you have not seen your last entry and/or you don’t want to know about the story represented in the novels.
One of the most important questions about Base Season 3 was whether the clash about the true identity of the mule would develop in the same way in Apple’s television adaptation as in books. As I discussed in an article about Base The newcomer of season 3 magnificent giganticus, this weak and shy individual is finally revealed that it is the mule in the source material.
BaseThe TV television count adopts a different approach, one that I hope to be controversial among fans of Asimov’s works, for this great revelation. In fact, while I cover in me Base The explained piece of season 3, Bayta Mallow, is apparently presented as the real mule.
It is a blind side that was retained BaseThe cast for some time. Llobell told me that nobody knew that Bayta was the mule until they received the script of the end of season 3, which they did not get until ‘The Darkness’ was about to be filmed.
“All scenes were fed by drip,” Llobell admitted. “But, it was still a shock for me because, although I knew there was some way of revealing, I didn’t know it was going to be.
“I think people will return, see this season again and say ‘that makes sense,” he continued. “I also think it is great that you deviate from the source material. That is important, otherwise, the people who have read the books will know what is coming, so I think it is interesting to adapt it in an interesting way for television.”
In an interview with Radiotime.com, Synnøve Karlsen, who plays Bayta, also opened in the great revelation.
“Knowing that there was a turn that was going to arrive, it only turned it into an even more exciting character,” Karlsen said. “I think she can leave a little thoughtless or careless at first, so once I discovered it, it was such an exciting element for me.
“I think they [the show’s creators] I wanted to subvert it, “he reflected on Bayta as the mule instead of magnificent.” I think it is quite interesting that she is a woman, and I suppose there is something about changing something of the original to surprise people [and] Keep people alert. “
However, as I mentioned earlier, some spectators may not positively react to this change in one of the best Apple TV+programs. Llobell agrees that there will be some strong reactions to this revelation, but believes that discussing the changes made by the science fiction series are better than better than it is not discussed at all.
“At the end of the day, we are stories narrators,” he said. “We are taking the source material and creating something new. My character [Gaal Dornick] There would not have been so much time if we did not diverge from the books, so I am very grateful for that.
“I understand that some people may feel bitter for that,” he added that Bayta is the mule. “But, that is a very good reaction. It causes conversation and that is what we intend to do. We want people to have a reaction, whether good or bad, to this and then talk to other fans.”
That said, I still think that magnificent is the mule. I enter that theory in more detail in the final explanator of season 3 mentioned above, so read that if you are curious why I feel that way.
“I don’t know,” Llobell replied with an ironic smile when I proposed that notion. “I have not seen any script [for a potential fourth season]But that would be an interesting shot. “
Season 3 of the Foundation is already entirely on Apple TV+.
