From EA Dante’s InfernoI’ve been waiting (in vain, I know) for a sequel or at least for another developer to take inspiration from Dante Alighieri’s classic narrative poem. The Divine Comedy – and now my wait might be over.
Developed by Italian studio One O One Games and published by Entalto Publishing, The Alighieri circle: Dante’s lineage is a narrative adventure game coming to PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC, which “reinterprets the story of Dante Alighieri The Divine Comedy as a surreal and introspective experience”.
A psychological mystery thriller played in first person, in which you play as a normal man, Gabriele Alighieri, who has to gather lost pages of the Divine Comedy and solve riddles to save his family from a destiny written in blood as part of a cycle in which the barrier between reality and hell fades every 33 years.
As you return to your ancestral home and explore its silent and melancholy halls, you will slowly discover the truth about the Alighieri lineage, all in a tense atmosphere and an environment that reacts to your internal state of mind.

I’ve harbored a deep interest in The Divine Comedy for a while and loved playing it. Dante’s Inferno on PS3. Yes, he wore his god of war The inspiration is clearly on its sleeve, but the rich source material was interestingly interpreted and deployed with some memorable recreations of “famous” souls appearing in the original work and locations within each of the circles of hell that Dante writes about and bringing The Divine Comedy to life in quite successful video game form.
While The Alighieri circle: Dante’s lineage Its gameplay looks like it will be several circles away from Visceral’s 2010 action-adventure game from hell, it definitely has me hooked and I’m intrigued by its fresh take on such a classic literary work.
The game will arrive this year, but there is no release date or window yet. You can list the game on Steam right now and look forward to the demo arriving via Steam on February 19.
