User ‘janmatant’ shared their find on fan website GTA Forums, revealing that they bought the console at a boot sale in Edinburgh, Scotland, for £5 (approximately $7), the same city where developer Rockstar North is based.
Images posted on the forum show the second-hand white Xbox 360 with a sticker on top that says “Rockstar North Ltd” and features the Rockstar Games logo, but it is the contents of the 120GB hard drive that have GTA The fans go crazy.

“HOLY. Shit. Something big has fallen,” one user said after the janmatant was posted.
After some investigation, it was discovered that the hardware appears to contain a 2007 pre-release version of GTA 4along with a trove of unfinished and unpublished resources that have now been uploaded to the Internet Archive.
In addition to ferry assets that appear to have been removed from the main game but used in cutscenes and trailers, fans also discovered different radio stations and songs that are different from the release version, as well as unused weapons such as a revolver, a pistol with a silencer, unfinished animations, and beta versions of character models.
But the biggest discovery is what appears to be an unfinished zombies mode, which featured vans and specific items like bloody police bodies and a hospital gurney.
As Kotaku reports, Obbe Vermeij, a former Rockstar Games developer who worked on GTA 4, He has since said that he doesn’t remember much about zombies mode in a post on X/Twitter, and suggested that it was an “experiment” by a team of artists and other developers “that didn’t work.”
“There were a lot of those,” Vermeij added.
