- Microsoft has been associated with 1Password to improve Passkey integration
- Users can soon use and synchronize passkeys in Windows 11
- Microsoft is constantly eliminating passwords for Passkeys
Microsoft has launched a test function to improve Passkey support in Windows.
A new association with one of the best password administrators, 1Password, allows users to synchronize their credentials and followers in Windows 11.
Microsoft has also launched an API complement to Credential Manager to allow other password administrators to integrate with Windows.
Passkey integration for Windows
The new function has been released in the Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 26200.5670 (KB5060838) on the development channel, and users seeking to test the new function must:
- Install 1Password Beta on your Windows 11 PC.
- Go to Configuration> Passkeys> Advanced options to enable the Administrator of Complement Credentials.
- Alternate the support and complete the user verification with Windows Hello (face, digital footprint or pin).
- You can now use your existing passkeys saved in the Administrator of Complement Credentials or save new passkeys.
Passkey’s best integration is something that many Windows users have been waiting, with the current dependence of third -party applications and websites that are a bit clumsy.
Microsoft has been constantly eliminating passwords in favor of the truth, which are much safer and more resistant to phishing. Only a few days ago, Microsoft announced that it was eliminating the saved passwords in the Microsoft Authenticator application.
In August 2025, Microsoft Authenticator will eliminate all saved passwords and will not allow you to create new saved passwords or enter your credentials. Instead, you will now be asked to use passkeys by default when creating a Microsoft account.
