New Jersey Devils striker Jack Hughes has been discarded by the rest of the season after suffering a shoulder injury of his vicious spill with Jack Eichel on Saturday.
The team made the announcement on Wednesday.
In their game in Las Vegas against the Golden Knights, the Devils sought to recover at least one goal at the end of the third period. Nico Hischier took a shot, and Hughes could not corner the rebound. Hughes then crashed with Eichel and crashed into the boards.

This is now the second consecutive season, Hughes will have played 62 games, since he also dealt with injuries last year. He had 27 goals and 40 assists this season. It was the first general selection in the 2019 NHL Draft.
