Lahore/quetta:
On Wednesday the Jaffar Express was canceled to start from Quetta for Peshawar, confirmed the railway officials, and added that the services will remain suspended over the next three days as the repair work continues on the damaged route.
The authorities confirmed that passengers have received complete refunds.
A day before, a railway in the Dasht area was beaten by a powerful explosion, aimed at Jaffar Express. The explosion caused four Bogies to derail and left almost a dozen injured passengers, including women and children.
Rescue and recovery operations were launched shortly after the incident. A heavy machinery had been deployed to restore the track, while derailed coaches rose and damaged bogies were removed.
Railway officials said that Jaffar Express and Bolan Express services remain suspended and would only resume once the road has been completely restored.
Separately, Fareed Express, who travels from Lahore to Karachi, derailed when entering platform Dos in Kotri Railway Junction. Three train bogies were deranged.
The railway personnel and cranes had been called to restore derailed coaches. Meanwhile, the passengers of the affected coaches were transferred to other compartments.
According to the sources of the Express PAkGazette, more than 200 trains derailing incidents have been reported every year.
