Jaffer Express suspended for three days after the explosion derailment train


Pakistan Railways has suspended the Jaffer Express between Quetta and Peshawar for three days after an explosion near Quetta damaged the roads and has caused multiple coaches to derail, hurting several passengers, the authorities confirmed on Wednesday.

The explosion occurred between the degari Cross and Sariab railway stations, damaging the road and derailing the engine and five train coach to Peshawar. The authorities believe that the explosion took place from 30 to 45 minutes before the train reached the site.

Both the Express Jaffer and the Express Bolan scheduled to start at QUETTA on Wednesday were canceled, with complete reimbursements issued to passengers. The restoration of the services depends on the completion of the repair work, the authorities said.

Socorro operations began shortly after the incident, with a heavy machinery deployed to clear remains, the coaches overturned and repair the damaged track. The Railroad Minister Hanif Abbasi ordered an investigation into the incident on Tuesday and ordered the authorities to submit a report within 24 hours.
