The concerns that Jalen Carter could be left aside for the rematch of the Super Bowl of the Philadelphia Eagles with the Kansas City bosses were annulled on Tuesday, when multiple reports clarified the discipline that Carter will face.
The NFL issued a fine of $ 57,222 and will not impose an additional suspension. The League determined that the expulsion of Carter in the first seconds of the opening of the season last Thursday “will serve as a suspension of a game.”
“Jalen Carter of the Philadelphia Eagles has been suspended without pay for a game for his act of unsportsmanlike behavior last Thursday against the Dallas Cowboys,” NFL said in a statement obtained by the NFL network.

“Because Carter was disqualified before participating in a single play, it is considered that the suspension was treated in week 1 and will lose his game control.”

Moments after the beginning against the Dallas Cowboys, the officials ruled that Carter is not eligible for the rest of the game after he was trapped spitting the Dak Prescott field marshal during an argument.

Carter addressed his actions after the game. “It was a mistake that happened on my side, and it will simply happen again,” Carter said. “I feel bad, just for my teammates and fans. It won’t happen again. I did that promise.”

Referee Shawn Smith explained the decision to expel Carter from the game in Lincoln Financial Field. “It is a disqualifiable missing in the game,” Smith told a pool reporter after the game. “It is an act that is not football.”
Carter agent Drew Rosenhaus said his client does not intend to seek an appeal. “After talking with the Eagles, the NFL and the NFLPA, Jalen has decided not to appeal and focus on the chief game,” Rosenhaus said.

Prescott offered context about what led to the incident last week.
“(H) E I was trolling, I suppose it could be said, trying to get with Tyler Booker,” Prescott said. “I was just looking at him. I was here by the two liners, and I guess I needed to spit, and I wasn’t going to spit my liner and simply spit ahead … and he says: ‘Are you trying to spit on me?'”
The NFL emphasized the importance of players who show sportsmanship this season.
“The rules of the league that prohibit antide sports behavior are of vital importance for all those involved in the game. The NFL has been clear with players, clubs and the NFLPA that plans to put special emphasis on sportsmanship this season,” concluded the declaration of the League.
The Eagles defeated the 24-20 cowboys in a seasoned seasonal opening. The Chiefs lost 27-21 against the Los Angeles Chargers in Brazil last Friday.
