Jamie Campbell Bower shared that she turned to real-life darkness while preparing for her role in Stranger things.
The 37-year-old actor said he was inspired by cult leaders for his character Mr WhatsIt, which appeared in the second volume of the final season.
Jamie explained that Jim Jones was one of his first references and helped shape the way the character spoke and behaved around children.
he said Variety: “Jim Jones was one of the first references for me.
“He was on the mood board, even regarding certain things he says when all the kids are in front of him.
“There were times when I thought, ‘Do I say the word ‘you’ or do I use the word ‘we’? We’re a family now.” That’s really discouraging!
“It can totally eliminate the idea of autonomy, so there definitely had to be that cult leader level to it.”

He said: “There was a lot of fear playing that.
“There’s a level of real dishonesty in that, and that’s really scary. It’s very difficult, especially in front of a child.”
Despite the darkness, Jamie believed that there is still some humanity within Vecna and his other forms.
He said, “There’s definitely humanity that I can see.”

Jamie warned fans that they were probably wrong if they thought they knew how the story would end.
He joked: “If you think you know what’s coming, you’re probably wrong.”
