After the devastating and deadly Los Angeles fires, Jamie Lee Curtis has finally returned home two weeks after evacuating.
The 66-year-old actor took to his social media account and posted an adorable video of a blue jay quenching its thirst and soaking in standing water in a stone bowl in Curtis’s backyard at his home in Los Angeles.
Sharing her feelings about being saved from the bushfires, Curtis wrote on her Instagram: “We returned to our home intact.”
“As we were leaving and thanking the safety teams and local guys, this beautiful blue bird, a reminder of the nature and wildlife that lives among us in our canyon, was surviving in the midst of this terrible, terrifying, horrendous forest fire that has been taken away so much, so violently.”
Earlier this month, Curtis announced that he will donate $1 million to his community suffering from the fires and their aftermath.
In a recent appearance on the Tonight’s show with Jimmy Fallon, he last showgirl The actress called the forest fire “a really terrible situation.”
“As you know, the place where I live is on fire right now. The entire city of Pacific Palisades is burning. I flew here last night, I was on the plane, I started getting text messages and it’s fucking twisted, right? Guys, it’s just a catastrophe in Southern California,” he told Fallon at the time.
“That’s right, it’s a really horrible situation. Obviously, early tomorrow morning I’m going to go home and be with my family and try to help my friends,” he added.
