Jamie Lee Curtis is setting the record straight after her comments about Charlie Kirk’s death didn’t land the way she expected.

In September, the actress appeared in the WTF with Marc Maron podcast and commented on the tragic death of the 31-year-old media personality.

“I didn’t agree with him on almost every point I heard him say, but I think he was a man of faith, and I hope that in that moment when he died he felt connected to his faith,” he said at the time.

“Although I found his ideas abhorrent,” he added, “I still believe that he is a father, a husband and a man of faith. And I hope that any connection with God means that he felt it.”

However, the Oscar The winner faced backlash online for her comments.

Now, during a recent conversation with VarietyCurtis responded to the criticism, saying: “One excerpt mistranslated what he was saying because he wished him well, as if he were talking about him in a very positive way, which he wasn’t. He was simply talking about his faith in God.”

She went on to say, “So it was a bad translation, which is a play on words, but no.”

“In today’s binary world, you cannot hold two ideas at the same time: I cannot be Jewish and fully believe in Israel’s right to exist and at the same time reject the destruction of Gaza. You cannot say that, because you are vilified for having a mind that says, ‘I can hold both thoughts. I can be contradictory in that sense,'” he added.

It is pertinent to mention that Kirk was a conservative advocate, who founded a group called US turning point.

He was shot and killed during a public speech at Utah Valley University on September 10.
