In addition to having the trophy, the Buckeyes also made Trump a custom soccer shirt of the Buckeyes with their name and number 47 on the back in honor of their presidency.

“I want to say just a couple of words about this team because they really helped to make a really incredible year even better for this proud Ohio State student,” Vance began. “First, I made a bet with Ted Cruz for the Texas game, a bet that has not yet paid. Ted Cruz, if they are watching on television, I don’t like losing any bet, but I really don’t want to lose a bet on Ted Cruz. Then, thank you all for helping me win that bet against Ted Cruz.”
Vance also admitted to having mentioned Trump that he wanted to see the Buckeyes face the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in the National Championship, but landed on January 20, the day of Trump’s inauguration as the 47th President.
“The second thing, I asked the president on January 20, I said: ‘Lord, would you mind if that final inaugural ball skipped to go to the National Championship of the State of Ohio’? The president said:” No, but we will have them in the White House. “So, here we are celebrating his national title,” said Vance, laughing.
“You were resistant. They were hard. You represented the state of Ohio well. They represented the whole country well.”
Trump praised the Buckeyes for fighting the playoffs of 12 men, especially after the hard defeats against the Oregon Ducks and Michigan Wolverines, the last of which is the most bitter rival of the state of Ohio.

Vance even pointed out that someone wore a Michigan hat during the ceremony at the White House, and joke said he will tell him to the secret service that the person had a “dangerous weapon.”
The Buckeyes defeated Fighting Irish, 34-23, in the game of the national title, which was crowned by a beautiful deep pass from Will Howard to Jeremiah Smith at the end of the last quarter.
