Jelly Roll has debunked claims that his wife Bunnie Xo married him for his money, and his response is as captivating as it is funny.
talking to Taste of country nightsThe 41-year-old rapper said he actually likes hearing the gold-digging accusations, even if his wife isn’t so amused.
“I love it when they call her a gold digger,” she said. “She hates it. It just turns her on.”
For Jelly Roll, however, the suggestion is too absurd to take seriously.
“It just tickles me absolutely pink because when I met her, I was a homeless guy living in a 1996 converted van, so if anyone was panning for gold it was me, Popeye. I was couch surfing and I made it to the bedroom.”

That openness is at the heart of Bunnie Xo’s memoir. Simple: without filters and without regretswhich came out in February and includes frank accounts of their early relationship, including Jelly Roll’s infidelity.

“I’m proud of her for unapologetically telling her story,” he said. “She talks about everything without fear, from domestic assaults to sexual assaults. I’m proud of her. She’s very brave.”
